Up until a few years ago, the first time the cast got to work on, let alone see the set, was Tech Week. All of that has changed now with SARA-Storage Area Rehearsal Area. That huge transition from rehearsing in a small room to being on stage is a thing of the past. Though it may not be painted and completely finished, actors now are able to work on the set for at least 3 weeks prior to Tech Week. SARA also has an actual replica of the Opera House stage. These things allow for not having to make huge adjustments once moving to the Opera House.
We take a look at week 5 of rehearsal at SARA. Scripts are long gone, and a few costumes have been added, along with some props.
Andrew moves into his new apartment, which was once inhabited by the famous John Barrymore. Andrew has been hired to play Hamlet, but he hates Hamlet and wants to back out of the role. His agent, Lillian was once romantically involved with Barrymore and his girlfriend, Dierdre is enamored with the man. His real estate agent, Felicia conducts a seance, bringing back the ghost of Barrymore. What ensues is a mad cap adventure of high jinx hilarity.
